REHEARSAL EXPECTATIONS

While our productions are first and foremost a fun experience for everyone involved, they also require a significant time commitment. Rehearsals for Into the Woods will begin in early January and continue up until our show dates, March 16-19. During this time, cast members should expect to commit approximately 5-10 hours per week to rehearsals, with that number increasing as we enter March.

The Into the Woods creative team recognizes that most of our performers are students first. As such, we are willing to be flexible during the first two months of rehearsal if cast members need to miss some rehearsals for class, midterms, assignments, etc. Come March, however, we expect all cast members to attend all scheduled rehearsals except in the case of illness, emergency, or another event that has been discussed in advance with the creative team. Putting together a show of this scale is a team effort, and we need to have everyone on board to ensure our production runs as smoothly as possible!

Before accepting a role in our cast, please make sure you are able to dedicate the time required to the rehearsal process. We completely understand that life gets busy, and we are more than happy to accommodate your student schedule as much as possible. However, we also want to be transparent about the time commitment required to be part of our show – both in the interest of being fair to fellow castmates and creative team members, as well as for the sake of each individual’s own mental health and academic/professional success.
